Round 8 of the 2007 American Le Mans Series season saw 26 cars take the green for a four-hour endurance race around the legendary 4 mile Road America circuit.
The field featured four classes: LMP1, LMP2, GT1 and GT2, with Audi, Porsche, Acura, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Mazda and more battling for victory.
The race began with Audi R10 TDI power at the front, as Allan McNish and Rinaldo Capello led the field away from pole position. But over four hours and 96 laps, the battle for overall victory would go down to the wire.
The No. 7 Porsche RS Spyder of Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard ultimately claimed the overall victory for Penske Racing, finishing just 1.783 seconds ahead of the No. 1 Audi R10 TDI of Allan McNish and Dindo Capello.
The No. 2 Audi R10 TDI of Marco Werner and Emanuele Pirro completed the overall podium, just 2.489 seconds behind the winning Porsche.
