Water does not scale. That single fact is why a miniature tidal wave tearing through a model city remains one of the hardest shots in cinema, and why practical effects still beat generative video at it. A city can be built at any ratio. The water cannot. Gravity stays at 9.81 m/s². Surface tension stays at roughly 72 mN/m. Viscosity does not shrink to match the buildings. The workaround is Froude scaling. The Froude number, Fr = v/√(gL), governs gravity-driven free-surface flow, and gravity does the scaling for you. Hold it constant and time compresses with the square root of the length ratio. - At 1:25 scale, the miniature completes its collapse five times faster than the real event - Overcrank the camera to roughly five times normal speed, around 120 fps - Play back at 24 fps and the timing reads as full scale That fixes motion.
