The St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum is one of the most iconic lighthouses in the United States. The lighthouse is 165 feet tall and is made of coquina (a local limestone mixed with shell), along with nearly 1 million bricks, and Pennsylvania cast iron. The lighthouse's distinctive black and white stripes make it a landmark that is easily recognizable from miles away. The museum is open daily to visitors.
