Before signing with pgLang, Imani Imani had been working on music in a small Amsterdam home studio with her producer Daan Zinkhaan for years. Over time, she became frustrated with the direction things were heading, and she was ready to quit music. “I just didn't see it anymore,” she says. The same day, she got a DM that changed her life. ”That's the day that Dave [Free] sent me a DM on Instagram saying that he saw something in me, based on what I'd already put out, which was very minimal on my Instagram page,” Imani remembers. ”He would just let me grow on my own time, which I really did, I took that time,” Imani says of her time with pgLang so far. “As a developing artist, that's the best kind of development.
