Ronald Reed, who is serving a life sentence for the 1970 killing of St. Paul police officer James Sackett, is scheduled to appear before Minnesota’s Supervised Release Board for a fourth time on Aug. 11. The board is legally required to consider 12 factors, including Reed’s prison record, rehabilitation, criminal history, potential public safety risk and input from Sackett’s family.
