Yuma Police say a viral incident that many believed was an attempted abduction actually began as a dispute over money. According to investigators, a 16-year-old girl tried to buy a v-pe but was refused service because of her age. Police say she then gave a man money to buy it for her instead. Investigators say the man drove away without giving her the v-pe or returning her money. As he left, police say she grabbed onto the driver’s-side window and held on for about 260 feet before falling into the roadway. Yuma Police have since released body camera footage and say the incident was not an attempted abduction, despite claims that spread online. The investigation remains ongoing.
