Search crews in Cochise County are still looking for a woman swept away by flash floodwaters early Thursday morning. Two powerful monsoon storms hit the region inside a 72-hour window. Around 12:30 a.m., a group attempting to cross the San Pedro River got caught as the water rose fast, and a woman believed to be between 45 and 50 years old was pulled away by the current. Border Patrol apprehended the other five near Naco and reported what happened to deputies just after 2 a.m. High water kept search teams back at first. Once it started receding, crews expanded the search and by late morning they found black pants, a gray shirt and shoes believed to match what she was wearing. They have not found her. The search was suspended around 11:15 a.m. so more personnel could be brought in, including cadaver dog teams. It was expected to resume Friday.
