A Goodyear charter school teacher is facing charges after police say an online report linked him to disturbing images involving children. Court documents allege that 39-year-old Samuel Durham Cooper posted an exploitative image involving a minor on Reddit in 2024. After Reddit submitted a cyber tip, investigators reportedly traced the account back to Cooper and later obtained a warrant for his devices. Police say they found additional material on his cellphone. During an interview with detectives, court records allege Cooper admitted to seeking out and sharing similar content online. Detectives also reportedly found journal entries referencing students, though he denied any physical conduct involving minors or students. Cooper, a teacher at Great Hearts Trivium Preparatory Academy, is being held on a $200,000 cash bond. Goodyear police say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
