August 9th is National Book Lovers Day! This day is dedicated to those who enjoy a good read. For today, Channey letterpress printed an image from a small electrotype (copy of a woodcut) depicting a row of books. We do not know the origins of this cut but it was made roughly 100 years ago. The text below, “Book Lovers Day,” was set in 30 point Caslon font. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press.
