Shane van Gisbergen endorses NASCAR's new caution rule after having it explained to him moments before, saying they spend way too long under yellow and maximizing green flag laps is a smart change. He also spent his off week doing absolutely nothing at home, mowing paddocks for two days, calling it "perfect" after weeks of non-stop travel. The new caution rule is: if a yellow flag flies with 10 or less laps to go in a stage, that will count as the stage break. The goal is to reduce the number of laps and time run under caution and to go back to green sooner.
