Powerful stories, familiar faces, and a shared sense of purpose at the Sporting Equals Awards…
The night at The Royal Lancaster Hotel was a real celebration of impact. Hearing from the nominees and seeing the winners across so many sports was inspiring, not just for what they have achieved, but for what they are changing for the people coming next.
It was also a brilliant chance to catch up with friends and colleagues across the sports industry. The room had proper energy.
I also did a series of interviews on the night and spoke about South Asian under-representation in football. For me it is not a headline, it is lived experience. The kid who loves the game but cannot see a pathway. The talent that gets overlooked. The feeling of always having to prove you belong. That is why I keep pushing.
Well done to the sportingequals team for putting on a fantastic event. And it means a lot that Sporting Equals are officially supporting the Asian Football Awards as we build towards September...
