✨7 Years of Investing in Oakland Students✨ When a child learns to read, everything changes. Curiosity takes off, and a whole world opens up. That’s why, in 2024, Eat. Learn. Play. pledged $25 million over five years to close Oakland’s literacy gap, working toward 10,000 tutoring opportunities by 2029. To date, our 1:1 and small group tutoring has reached over 7,500 students in the Oakland Unified School District. Personalized support layered on top of classroom instruction with students building confidence one page at a time. We’ve also placed more than 1 million books into Oakland kids’ hands with the Oaklitcoalition and through programs like our free holiday book boxes and book fairs, and the Eat. Learn. Play.
