At Laurel Elementary, two investments come together: a completed schoolyard and a room full of readers. Through eatlearnplay’s support of ReadingPartners, 48 students at Laurel received one-on-one literacy tutoring this past school year, with 90% meeting or exceeding their reading goals thanks to dedicated volunteers. laurellions is also one of the 24 schools where Eat. Learn. Play. completed a schoolyard revitalization, including new play structures, multi-sport courts, nature exploration areas, and murals. rpbayarea volunteer Kim sees the connection when she works with her student: “He comes in sweaty, and ready to learn.
