As I finalize new reels, getting my Michael Mann “blue steel” going with this beautiful shot of my friend Dan Eid in downtown Hollywood one quiet evening. My new studio name and animation “Brave Mhallie Studios” follows. More later this year about what that means and why I chose it. Working on new reels is probably one of the hardest but most rewarding tasks as a creative. It is literally micro-managing sometimes over 100 mini film projects. We have newer eyes to re-interpret and focus older work, and our memory recalls the long journey; shocking at times the length and breadth of it. Old experiences and friendships get stirred like ocean depths that are always there, yet sometimes not seen due to heads intentionally kept above water.
