The Washington Commanders signed Stefon Diggs to a one-year deal worth up to $12 million, and it closes the door on the Brandon Aiyuk campaign that has run all offseason. Jordan Schultz reported it first, Ian Rapoport confirmed, and Adam Schefter had the terms.

Aiyuk signed a four-year, $120 million extension with the 49ers in August 2024, tore his ACL and MCL in Week 7 of that season, and has not played a football game since. San Francisco voided the guarantees in his contract and placed him on the reserve/left squad list in December. He spent this summer campaigning for Washington on Instagram, said the 49ers should cut him so he could sign with the Commanders the next day, posted that he bought a $10 million estate in Loudoun County, and then took public shots at Jayden Daniels, his former Arizona State teammate and the quarterback he was trying to go play with.
ESPN's John Keim reported a definite cooling in Washington's interest after those post...
