Could Scottie Scheffler stop the Great Chicago Fire? On October 8th, 1871, a fire broke out in Chicago and burned for two days, destroying more than 17,000 structures and leaving roughly 100,000 people homeless. The flames spread so aggressively that the city was essentially powerless to stop them. Scottie Scheffler, meanwhile, has spent the last few years doing the exact opposite: making chaos look completely under control. While Chicago needed an entire city to fight one fire, Scottie needs one club, one ball and about 30 seconds to turn a tournament into a controlled burn. Fairways? Gone. Greens? Toast. Leaderboards? Incinerated. The world’s best golfer has become the human equivalent of a fire department arriving before the flames even start. Chicago gets the destruction. Scottie gets the extinguishing. Fire contained. Name a historical disaster Scottie couldn’t somehow scramble his way out of. 👇 #golf #PGATOUR #trend #voiceover #history
