Hollywood’s rebound has reached a cinematic scale of its own, with theatergoers turning out in droves for summer blockbusters like The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Toy Story 5, along with low-budget breakthroughs Obsession and Backrooms. 2026 is shaping up to be the highest-grossing year since the pandemic, with more than $6.2 billion in domestic box office sales to date.
