I stopped doing MORE Hyrox workouts… and my race times got BETTER. Early in my Hyrox training, I thought the answer was obvious: Want to get better at Hyrox? Do more Hyrox. More simulations. More compromised workouts. More intensity. More sessions that absolutely crushed me. It felt productive because it was hard. But eventually I realized I wasn’t missing intensity. I was missing the foundation that allowed me to actually use that intensity. So I changed my training. I ran more. I built a bigger aerobic base. I strength trained with purpose. I practiced the stations in controlled environments where I could actually focus on mechanics. And then I used Hyrox-specific workouts strategically instead of making every workout one. My race times got faster. And racing started to feel smoother, not harder. That’s the part people miss. You don’t get better at Hyrox simply by doing more Hyrox workouts. You get better by improving all of the individual pieces — running, strength...
