Did you know? Before she ever ran for office, Victoria Gray Adams was organizing on the ground with SNCC in Hattiesburg, Mississippi — registering voters and teaching citizenship classes at a time when that work could get you killed. In 1964, she ran for US Senate. She lost. But the campaign helped build the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, which she co-founded — and that challenge to the all-white Mississippi delegation shook the Democratic Party at its 1964 convention. History gave her a footnote. She deserves a chapter. #MarchOn #DidYouKnow #CivilRightsHistory #MississippiFreedomDemocraticParty #SNCC
