The Kansas Women Attorneys Association - KWAA celebrated its 37th annual conference this month, which brought together women attorneys from across the state. Among them were district court judges, Court of Appeals judges and their research attorneys, and members of the Office of Judicial Administration.
A conference highlight was a fireside chat with Chief Justice Eric Rosen and retired District Judge Sally Pokorny, formerly of the 7th Judicial District.
Congratulations to Judge Amy Cline, Kansas Court of Appeals, who was awarded the Carol Foreman Medal of Civility, an honor that recognizes a judge or attorney who consistently leads with civility, ethics, and respect for others.
This year also marked the inaugural Chief Justice Marla Luckert Rising Star Award, which was presented to Paige Harding of the Rural Justice Initiative Committee. Fellow committee member Etta Walker was also recognized, taking home the Jennie Mitchel Kellog Award.
Congratulations to this year's honorees!
