The Kansas Rural Justice Initiative Committee recently visited Great Bend on the invitation of Rep. Tory Blew. During the meeting, the committee heard from a panel composed of a current and past judge, prosecuting and defense attorneys, and Rep. Blew. The panel discussed challenges and opportunities related to living and working in a rural community. Also covered were access to justice, professional networking, and work-life balance. When the panel finished, the committee heard reports from its subcommittees on information and data; attorney recruitment and retention; and judicial, legislative, and community initiatives. #KSCourts #RuralJustice
