For Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week, we're honoring the court services officers who work with people during difficult times in their lives. Audrey LeVota, a court services officer in the 4th Judicial District, which is Anderson, Coffey, Franklin, and Osage counties, explains it this way. "Nobody throws a party when they get put on probation. It can feel incredibly overwhelming and you may not know where to begin." For her, the job starts with meeting people who are facing uncertainty and creating a plan. "I help people by taking the fear out of court requirements and breaking them down into achievable, real-world steps. Whether I'm helping someone build a resume, linking them with local job training programs, or just being the one person in their corner cheering them on, I make sure they have the tools to succeed," she said.
