Raise your hand if you’re a black oystercatcher chick 🖤. Two biologists recently came across these adorable black oystercatcher chicks on Chowiet Island. While these chicks leave the nest soon after hatching, they still rely on their parents for food until their bills grow large enough to forage on their own. And contrary to their name, black oystercatchers rarely feed on oysters, but on other sea creatures like mussels, clams and limpets!
