A happy ending in Ottawa ❤️🙏🇨🇦
Kevin Shaw, a 54-year-old Ottawa man living with cerebral palsy, has been reunited with his custom adapted tricycle nearly a month after it was stolen from his Alta Vista home.
The bike was spotted near a Tim Hortons on Lancaster Road by a recycling business owner who had seen Shaw’s story circulating on TikTok and recognized it. After confirming the bike through a photo, it was returned to Shaw on Sunday with the help of Ottawa police.
Shaw has relied on the custom-built bike for 23 years to stay physically active and says it was thankfully returned in the same condition.
Rather than accepting donations that had been offered to help replace it, Shaw is encouraging people to donate the money to disability organizations and help another person with a disability get active.
The person responsible for the theft has not yet been arrested.
A great example of Ottawa’s community coming together when it matters. ❤️🇨🇦
