One shin muscle stabilizes your arch. Most training skips it completely, and your ankle pays for it. It’s called the tibialis posterior, and it runs down the inside of your shin to sling under your arch like a stirrup. When it’s weak, that’s often a big reason an arch drops inward and the ankle ends up absorbing load it wasn’t built for. So before you chase ankle pain, train the muscle actually holding the arch up. The sequence: 1. Banded resisted inversion, 12-15 reps each side 2. Double leg calf raise 3. Single leg calf raise, slow, hold at the top Give it a few consistent weeks and that arch can start holding its shape again.
