Meta just released Muse Glimmer, a 30B open-weight AI model that can run locally on a Mac or PC with a single consumer GPU. And this is bigger than just another AI model. Until recently, running powerful AI agents meant relying heavily on cloud servers, expensive APIs and massive GPU infrastructure. Now, models this capable are getting small and efficient enough to live directly on your own computer. That means developers can build AI agents that reason, use tools, code and work continuously while keeping more data on-device and reducing their dependence on cloud providers. GPUs aren’t going away. But the barrier is shifting from needing a data center to needing one powerful computer. And that could completely change who gets to build with advanced AI. The future of AI might not live entirely in the cloud. It might live on your computer. #AI #MetaAI #AIAgents #ArtificialIntelligence
