kprc2bryce 👇🏽 $𝟐.𝟓 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐚𝐝𝐨 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐣𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Harris County commissioners on Thursday unanimously approved $2.52 million to fund the Harris County District Attorney’s Office independent investigation of the July 7 ICE shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. DA Sean Teare told reporters the money will fund a full-time prosecutor and investigator dedicated to the case. It would also fund outside counsel if a charge against the ICE agent gets filed, because Teare said that would be handled in federal court, outside the scope of what his office does.
