HEAT ADVISORY: TAKE IT SERIOUSLY ☀️ Extreme heat can become life-threatening in minutes. Stay safe by drinking water throughout the day, limiting outdoor activity, seeking shade or air conditioning and wearing lightweight clothing. Know the warning signs 🌡️ • Heat exhaustion: Heavy sweating, dizziness, headache, nausea, weakness or muscle cramps. • Heat stroke: Confusion, loss of consciousness, seizures or a high body temperature. Call 911 immediately. Protect your pets 🐾 • Provide fresh water, shade and extra cooling (pool, swamp cooler, cooling mat, etc.) • Walk pets during the cooler morning or evening hours. • Hot pavement burns paws—if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws. • Never tether pets outside during a heat advisory. • Never leave people or pets in parked cars.
