Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says allies have supplied just a third of the air defence missiles to Ukraine in 2026 compared with last year, as Russia steps up attacks on Kyiv and other major cities.
Ukraine has faced a shortage of US-made Patriot interceptors, which are among the few systems capable of stopping Russian ballistic missiles. The shortfall has become increasingly critical as Moscow has intensified its strikes in recent weeks.
During a major attack on Wednesday, Ukraine's air force said its defences failed to intercept any of the 24 ballistic missiles and four Zircon cruise missiles launched by Russia.
