🐃 “Wildebeests are, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful animals in the wild because of how unique they are. Their strange, almost mythological-looking face and their intense gaze make them fascinating subjects.
Most of the time, I photograph them from the side because it better emphasizes the distinctive shape of their face and highlights their powerful expression. I took this image with the Sony Alpha 1 paired with the Sony 200–600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS lens.
This is my favorite wildlife setup because the versatility of the 200–600mm lets me instantly adjust my framing as the animal moves, allowing me to capture a variety of compositions without changing lenses. Combined with the Alpha 1’s 50 MP sensor, I have plenty of resolution to crop significantly while retaining outstanding image quality.
