Congratulations to Photography + Film Professor Sasha Waters on the premiere of her latest documentary, “Mary Oliver: Saved by the Beauty of the World.” The film takes a deeper look at the life and legacy of celebrated American poet Mary Oliver, exploring her creative process, personal history and powerful connection to the natural world. Waters also worked with Photo + Film alumni, Tyler Kirby (B.F.A. ’14) and Janelle Proulx (M.F.A. ’14) of Departure Point Films. The Richmond premiere of “Mary Oliver: Saved by the Beauty of the World” will take place on Friday, April 3, at 8 p.m. at the Grace Street Theater as part of the 32nd James River Film Festival.
