You, me + a safari in Namibia? 🇳🇦 You probably imagine the desert when you think of Namibia… but did you know it has lush green wetlands where you can see lions, elephant, and even wild dog?? 🐕🌿🐘 This is Nkasa Rupara National Park📍It’s considered Namibia’s smaller version of Botswana’s Okavango Delta… and few tourists have ever heard of it. Zoom in on a map 🗺️ and find the skinny strip poking out of Namibia’s northeast corner, wedged between Botswana, Angola, Zambia and Zimbabwe. That’s where we found ourselves after a 3-day drive across the country. Elephants have moved through this corridor for centuries (before the countries’ borders even existed). 🐘 Then the poaching started. Rangers were under-resourced and floods blocked access to the islands… and the wildlife population nearly evaporated.
