Why a ghost ship?? ⬇️ For the past 6 weeks, the 9 month world cruise has been operating at ~25% capacity. This was due to our major itinerary change. When it was deemed unsafe to sail through the Middle East via the Red Sea, we had to reroute all the way around the continent of Africa. We had to vote onboard as to whether we wanted an immersive Africa cruise or a get around Africa quick cruise. (Immersive Africa won the vote. Yay! 🥳) Leading up to our new Africa cruise, Royal Caribbean didn't sell this portion of the cruise to the public. Considering this, and that many world cruisers went home or on alternative adventures, we had a major reduction in guest and crew #s onboard. Hence... a ghost ship. 👻 (We also called it our own private yacht 😜) To be on a ghost ship was such an odd and incredible experience. I will cherish this experience within this wild 9 month journey forever! Now.. we are at full capacity again. The energy is good, and my parents are onboard, but phew,...
