We were the ones in a cage! 😱⬇️ These kinds of animal experiences aren't usually my first pick when traveling. But we were offered this lion encounter on our tour in Senegal, which was one of the last Africa stops on the 9 month World Cruise. And we couldn't say no! 🦁 This experience can be found at the Bandia Wildlife Reserve, a wildlife refuge consisting of 3500 hectacres of fenced natural habitat. Picture this. YOU get into the cage and let the lions come to you 😱 While at first this seems strange, I actually find it much better than a zoo. The lions had MUCH more space than in a zoo enclosure. They seemed happy and very healthy. While sure... they are being motivated by food, they still have a choice as to whether or not they want to approach the vehicle. And some didn't!
