Still swooning over this sauna cave at... 📍 Gold Strike Hot Springs, near the base of the Hoover Dam Fun facts about this sauna cave ⬇️ Did you know that workers drilled this tunnel during construction of the Hoover Dam? At about 50 feet into drilling, they tapped into a natural hot spring that was so hot that they couldnt continue drilling any further. Later, this tunnel was transformed into a bearable hot spring! But be warned of the following regarding this sauna cave: 💦 It is not for the claustrophobic 😬 💦 Bring water shoes and a light. 💦 It gets HOT at the end of the cave and you will sweat So don't stay too long. 💦 Don't let the water get into your nose or mouth. 💦 This entire hike is closed during the summer months. 💦 It is a challenging hike with ropes for bouldering to get down into the canyon.
