I'm still reminiscing on this hike to the highest peak on Oahu in Hawaii 🧗‍♀️ [Save these tips if you plan to do this hike and can make it past climbing the ropes to the top 😉] 🔹️Wear good hiking boots. I REPEAT! Wear good hiking boots. 🔹️Try and go when it's dry and hasn't rained. If it is wet, be prepared to get muddy. 🔹️Use the ropes to help you climb. This becomes significantly more challenging if muddy. 🔹️Be on the lookout for pterodactyls - this is the kind of place they would hang out. 🔹️When you get to the boggy area with the boardwalk, people may say "welcome to the top!" but keep going! There's more to be seen! 🔹️If you want a 📸 with the Mt. Ka'ala sign, find the fenced in area at the top. Go all the way up to the gated area and turn left onto a little trail. Follow along the outside of the fence, turn right through the animal fence and you will see it! 🔹️Bring water and snacks.
