“You have one life, but you can live many lives within it.” ✨ For writer and marketer Sunny Dae ( _sunnydae ), UC Berkeley was the place where she first learned the "power of the pivot." LA-raised and Berkeley-forged, Sunny (Sociology ’14) arrived on campus with a plan to become a lawyer. But while she was studying for the LSAT, her heart was in the "third spaces" she helped create on campus: the Afro Floor, the Black Recruitment & Retention Center (BRRC), and the events that brought the "small but mighty" multicultural community together. After graduation, Sunny built a successful career as an experiential marketer, project managing CultureCon and creating massive, soulful activations for over 10,000 Black and Brown creatives. But at 32, she pivoted again. Today, she is #FluentInTheFuture as a screenwriter for the upcoming Netflix series Forever, proving that it’s never too late to chart a new path toward fulfillment.
