Puerto Ricans have been facing a water crisis getting worse by the minute for months. Now, over 180,000 people on the island will be going without water for 48 hours at a time as part of a water rationing measure announced by the government—with no end to the rationing in sight.
Many living in areas including San Juan, Carolina, Juncos, Gurabo, and Loiza haven’t had reliable water access for days, with some going without water for over 100 days. This comes at a time when Puerto Rico faces one of the driest and hottest summers on record.
“It’s brutal… it’s unbelievable to live through this today,” San Juan resident Gloriany Baba told CBS News.
