🌿 On #WorldEnvironmentDay, UNESCO has designated 14 new #BiosphereReserves across 14 countries! These territories are living examples of how people and nature can thrive together: protecting biodiversity, supporting sustainable development and strengthening local communities. This year marks several milestones: three countries welcome their first biosphere reserves: Montenegro, Timor-Leste, and Aruba which sees its entire territory designated as such. Since 1971, UNESCO Biosphere Reserves have helped demonstrate that conservation and development can go hand in hand.
