In times of uncertainty, the spirit of Nowruz reminds us of the importance of hope, dialogue, solidarity and respect for our shared humanity. Around 21 March, many communities mark the arrival of spring with Nowruz, meaning “new day”. Known by different names in different cultures, it reflects traditions rooted in the rhythm of nature and the spring equinox, welcoming renewal and hope for the year ahead. Music and dance, games, rituals involving fire and water, and gatherings with loved ones are among the many practices that accompany this time of year.
