Women are shaping the technologies of tomorrow. Their leadership in innovation is a matter of rights and justice. On International Women’s Day, UNESCO reaffirms its commitment to advancing opportunities for all women and girls in science and emerging technologies. Through the African Women in Tech & AI (AWITAI) initiative, UNESCO has supported 150 women entrepreneurs from across Africa working in artificial intelligence and technological innovation. In partnership with the C2C aimovement1 and funded by the OCP Foundation (ocpgroup), the programme empowers women innovators developing AI solutions to tackle real challenges across Africa through training, mentorship and support.
