This downtown St. Paul icon is shining once again! The 50-foot-tall red “1st” sign has been a feature of the downtown skyline since the 1930s and is now lit on all three sides from dusk until dawn as of this week. It had been dark since 2024. The First National Bank Building was the tallest building in St. Paul from 1931 to 1986 and has a storied history. This building changed owners earlier this year. The new owner, Downtown Revival Trust, is working to preserve and invest in historic buildings in St. Paul and will be continuing to make improvements in this space. #stpaulmn #stpaulminnesota #saintpaulmn #twincities #minnesota
