I think this might be the closest to traveling business class I ever get.
The Nightjet train in Europe is one of the coolest ways to travel across Europe, sleep in one country, wake up in another, but a few things make it way smoother:
• Book early if you want a private sleeper (we got lucky).
• Pack a small overnight bag so you’re not digging through your suitcase in storage.
• A screenshot of your ticket QR code is usually enough.
• If you care about sleep, get a private cabin. Otherwise, shared compartments can be hit or miss.
• Bring snacks and water, keep your passport and valuables close for border checks, and download your ticket in advance since service can be spotty.
• Don’t expect luxury, it’s more of a cozy, practical travel experience than anything fancy. Breakfast (if included) is a nice bonus, not a highlight. It’s two bread rolls per person.
