In the same week in which Ethan Pirigyi ’26 was competing for the United States National Team at the World Rowing U19 Championships in Europe, middle school students from throughout Western New York hit the water at our perennially popular CHS Rowing Camp.
There was another great turnout as the young rowers enjoyed their first rowing experience or enhanced their skills on the water with one of the nation’s best programs.
Coach Jacob Filby ‘14 and President of Rowing Tom Flaherty, along with current Crusader rowers, led the instruction and coaching.
Youngsters saw time on rowing machines at the home of CHS Rowing, the Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association, and did training runs on the Buffalo River to Canalside and back.
