Read Luna’s story ❤️ Meet adoptable Luna, a 2 year old, 38 lb Poodle / Golden Retriever mix who is ready for her fresh start. She was surrendered by her former owner to the shelter due to some health issues in the former owner’s family. When she came to us, she was in rough shape. Her coat was severely matted, but on top of the severe matting, it look like she had been left outside in the rain for an extended period of time. Her coat had a terrible mildew smell that no amount of bathing could lessen the smell. Ultimately, she had to be shaved from head to toe. Well, the shave job is done, but she is of course (temporarily) giving a little bit of naked mole rat energy. In a few months, her chocolate curls will grow back! Underneath all that, Luna is a genuinely great dog. She is good with people, good with other dogs, and very food motivated. She’s doing wonderfully with learning how to walk on a leash and quickly picks up new routines. She was clearly underfed before coming to us and...
