Meet adoptable Cookie, a 3 month old, 7 lb mixed breed pup with beginnings that are a bit mysterious. Cookie was brought into the shelter with a severed rear right foot, but no one has any idea how it happened. Given his medical needs, our shelter partner reached out to us for help. Well, despite missing a foot, you’d literally never know if you didn’t see it - Cookie gets around great and seems to have a zest for life despite a painful start. After talking with our veterinarian and observing how well he gets around, it seems like Cookie still uses that leg for support. So, for now, he’s just going to be an adorable peg leg pup on one foot! We do not know exactly what caused the injury, but what we do know is that Cookie has not let it slow him down. It is surmised that he perhaps got his foot caught in something meant for a much larger animal. Well, we are glad he made it out, and now it’s time for him to find his forever home!
