Zambia scored the most goals in Group C… and still got eliminated from WAFCON 2026. 😳⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Despite finishing with a +6 goal difference, the Copper Queens were knocked out after CAF’s head-to-head tiebreaker rules came into play. 🇿🇲⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Because three teams finished tied on points, only results between Zambia, Malawi, and Nigeria counted... meaning Zambia’s 6–0 win over Egypt didn’t matter. ⁣🤯⁣ ⁣⁣ In the end, Malawi and Nigeria advanced after the mini-table came down to goals scored between the tied teams. 💔⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ A reminder that in tournament football, every goal (and every game) counts. ⚽️⁣ #womenssports #wafcon #soccer #zambia #wafcon2026 Images c/o justfotos_media cafwomenfootball
