The President says American museums are “too negative.” So I went back 90 years and animated myself into LIFE magazines from the 1930s to see what the country was publishing when nobody was worried about making history look bad. It’s important to note this was before television existed and so these photo journalistic magazines were Americans window into the world! The racism wasn’t hidden. The prejudice wasn’t subtle. It was printed, photographed, and sold as normal American life. History doesn’t need better PR. It needs to be told honestly!! #vfx #history #americanhistory
