It’s the (prairie) dog days of summer… Not over yet! Prairie dogs spend their summer days doing what many of us aspire to do: stay cool, eat well, avoid unnecessary drama, and prepare for what comes next. Their daily schedule is pretty straightforward: forage for food, socialize with the neighbors (let’s not overdo it), keep an eye out for predators, and run fast underground when things get a little too hot. Basically, eat, chill, nap, repeat. Their underground burrows are nature’s original climate-control system, protecting them from the blazing summer sun above and chilly temperatures below. So while you’re sweating through another summer afternoon, remember: somewhere out there, a prairie dog is probably underground, having a snack and prepping for a nap. Honestly? Goals.
