Flash back 💡 🤔 I was selected to coach the 2nd team for U16 Representative Basketball. One of my first seasons coaching Representative basketball in QLD. The 1st team coach, a prominent coach at the time, “instructed me” to pick two kids he wanted on the 2nd team. They were from a prominent local school (where he was involved), and he was friends with their parents. I said: “No.” He looked at me in shock. “What did you say?” “No. Those two boys over there have far more potential. I am going to pick them.” He started arguing with me. Told me he’d make sure I was replaced if I didn’t “do as I was told.” So I told him I’d make it fair. “I’ll make the two boys I want to pick play 1v1 against the two boys you want me to pick.” 👀 My guys (pictured) were Dylan & Cody. “Absolutely not.
